This collection of correspondence contains approximately 7,000+ handwritten and typed letters sent from more than 900 individuals to the American Entomological Society (AES), founded in 1859 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The letters dated between 1867 and 1951 discuss various entomology related topics including insect specimen collecting and observation, exchanges with other natural science institutions and entomologists, and the operation of the AES including publications issued by the society and the Entomological Section of the Academy of Natural Sciences. The correspondence is organized alphabetically by last name of correspondent.
